Coming Soon – Meet the Campbells!

Though I know that we won’t be covering feature posts in Blogging 101 for another two weeks, I have been sitting on a feature idea for a while now and am ready to go forward with it now.  It’s a short series that I’m calling “Project: Meet the Campbells” where I am going to do a short profile and Q&A with each of my siblings, with a bonus post of one of my siblings interviewing me.

The idea came from comments on my blog and my brother Seth‘s blog addressing the fact that we have such a large family.  In fact, we were going to make this a project for both of our blogs, but Seth declined since he does not have as much free time right now.  So I am heading off the project and have already conducted the first few interviews with a few of my older siblings.

It’s a funny feeling to interview your siblings, but it was definitely interesting.  It was fun to come up with individual questions for each of my siblings and I’m looking forward to talking to the rest of them this weekend to finish that part of the project.

I know I am enjoying putting together and executing this project, so I hope those of you who read my blog will enjoy reading the posts and learning a little more about my family.

On that note, I am expecting the first post to go up this Monday.

Just Some Life Updates

So I haven’t updated in a while, and the reason is simple… I’ve been a little busy.

You all know I’m back in school and since it’s online it doesn’t take up as much of my time so I have more time for other things.  Lately I’ve been cooking and learning some recipes from my new cookbooks, so that’s been taking my time.  I am also in business with two of my brothers in a photography company we are starting up.

Meanwhile, I’ve also been keeping more in contact with my siblings that are out of state.  My brother Seth is starting a book club at his and Scotty’s school since he’s such a bookworm and he’s also dominating the chess club. Scotty is auditioning for a lead in the first school play, so I’m rooting for him to get it.  But Scotty has also released some music on his SoundCloud account, so here’s one of them:

In other news of some of my other siblings, my oldest sister and my oldest brother are each planning their weddings with their significant others… so that might happen before the end of the year.  They’ll probably be in the same week or month.

But yeah, that’s pretty much it.

Staying Connected

As a kid I grew up being around my 8 siblings and numerous cousins all the time, but since I have moved a few times over the past year and a half, I haven’t seen them quite as often.  Sure, there’s always phone calls and texting, but I tend to like to see people when I talk to them.  So you can imagine how happy I am that there are such things as Skype and FaceTime.

I don’t get to video chat with my siblings and cousins that often, but when we do, it’s usually a pretty big chat we have going on and it’s like none of us are miles apart from each other.

So the reason I’m telling you this is because I just think it’s amazing how staying connected with friends and family who live across the country, or in different countries, has gotten so much easier.  Especially since it’s gotten to the point where we can see each other and feel as thought they’re in the room with us.

So yeah, no real reason for this one, other than my amazement with the evolution of technology.
