1 Year Vegan

Deciding to go vegan, I will admit, was for more selfish reasons than just trying to live a life that wasn’t harming animals in any way.  I wasn’t always the healthiest kid on the planet, and I wanted to change that.  Was going vegan a little drastic? Probably.

But it’s one year later and I’m feeling better than ever.

For one thing, my stomach isn’t having the problems it used to and I feel like I have more energy each day.  Of course, I’ve also started to exercise regularly with my brother, so that also has to be taken into account for my overall feeling of health.

Of course, one of the best things that has come out of my change to the vegan lifestyle is that I have learned to prepare and cook my own meals and desserts.  Since I am the only vegan living in my house, I really had no choice but to learn how to make my own meals if I was going to continue being vegan.  And I suppose I’m lucky that everyone in the house enjoy the vegan meals and treats I make, because I sometimes tend to make more than I can eat on my own.

So, here’s to my 1 year vegan-versary and to anyone else who is also celebrating a milestone in their vegan journey!
